A friend once told me that my gift was the ability to look beyond all that is supposed to harden us, and instead, maintain a view of the world through childlike eyes.
It was one of the best compliments I ever received.
I’m not sure if this “gift” makes me young at heart, naive or just plain immature.
When I think about everything that life has thrown at me, especially in recent years, I realize I am a combination of all of the above.
Being young at heart keeps me active; the naivete keeps me striving; and the immaturity keeps me laughing.
I really wouldn’t want it any other way.
