I Was Born During the Day – Just Not YESTERDAY

I was born during the day. It just wasn’t yesterday.

I feel like I need to clarify this point as it seems as though some are hell-bent on treating me like I was born yesterday – as if I have the word, “naivety” tattooed on my forehead.

Warmth is not synonymous with vulnerability.

It would be amiss to mistake kindness for weakness, for one can crush with the very same hands once used to give.

It would also be imprudent to confuse a trusting soul with a foolish one. Even the most trusting of souls can be deceived only so many times.

It’s like that old saying that goes:

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me thrice and it will be the last time anyone is fooled by you again.

Or something to that effect.
